Driving down life’s highway, we dream about sunny and seventy – top down, - tank full. We map out our plans…have places to go, people to see. We can’t afford delay because, well…LIFE. Its calling and we’re cutting a sure swatch through it.
Get outta my way!
Honking, swerving, - blowing through yellow lights; we’re making good time. Then you see it and instinctively you know all those plans, all that plotting…all of it, out the window in a New York minute. It’s a sign, and not the kind you want to see.
“DETOUR AHEAD”
You have no choice; the detour is there and you must take it. Such is life, am I right? You’re moving along, happy as you please, and then suddenly - screeecccchhhh! If you haven’t met with such detours, keep driving. You will. They show up uninvited and alter the pathways of our lives. They call for reserve tanks of courage, faith, and endurance in great measure. But don’t be discouraged because these detours were never meant to be traveled alone.
The Bible calls His name EMMANUEL which means “God is with you.” In the detour of your life, when your tank is empty, your heavenly Father offers this “extra tank of gas” –
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
